I. Overview

GW5 series outdoor AC disconnecting switch is outdoor high voltage electrical equipment for AC 50Hz, with rated voltage grades of 40.5kV, 72.5kV and 126kV, for making and breaking high voltage lines under no-load conditions, and for electrical isolation of high voltage busbars, circuit breakers and other electrical equipment under maintenance from live high voltage lines, and can also be used for making and breaking small capacitance or inductance currents. GW5-40.5kV/630A High Voltage Disconnecting Switch adopts V-type double-column structure, can be installed horizontally or vertically to save space, with precise contact opening/closing angle, suitable for 35kV outdoor distribution systems.

This series of outdoor disconnecting switches meets the requirements of GB1985 "AC High Voltage Disconnecting Switches and Earthing Switches", IEC60129 "AC Disconnecting Switches and Earthing Switches" and GB/T11022 "Common Specifications for High Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Standards".

V. Structural Introduction

Each single pole of the disconnecting switch consists of two post insulators, fixed on a base respectively, with an angle of 50deg forming a V-type structure. It mainly consists of the following parts: base part, post insulators, terminal block part, contact part, earthing blade, earthing fixed contact, terminal, etc.

This disconnecting switch is available in three types: without earthing, single earthing and double earthing. There is a mechanical interlock between the main shaft and the earthing blade, and auxiliary switches are provided. The switch can be operated manually or electrically.
