Product Overview
The RW12-12KV/200A 15kV drop-out fuse is an outdoor AC high-voltage protection device with dimensions of 50*36*12.5cm, weight approximately 8kg, creepage distance 320mm, power frequency withstand voltage 45kV, and impulse withstand voltage 125kV. This 15kV drop-out fuse has a rated voltage of 15kV, rated current options of 100A or 200A, and a breaking current as high as 8000A to 12500A, specifically designed for power transmission and distribution systems.
Drop-out fuses are typically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or on branch trunk lines of distribution lines, serving as short-circuit and overload protection for transformers and lines, as well as for making and breaking load currents. The product features are notable: 1. After installing a high-voltage fuse element, it reliably protects the circuit and interrupts fault currents; 2. Uses composite (silicone rubber) material insulators, providing superior insulation performance and strong anti-pollution flashover capability; 3. After the fuse element melts, the fuse tube drops automatically, forming a clear isolation break, ensuring operational safety.
The HRW and RW series 15kV drop-out fuses produced by FAURE/Gaosuo Electric are held closed by the tension of the fuse element during normal operation. When a fault occurs, the fault current causes the fuse element to melt rapidly and create an arc. The arc-extinguishing tube is heated to decompose a large amount of gas, creating a longitudinal blowing effect that rapidly extinguishes the arc. Subsequently, the fuse tube drops automatically under the action of the mechanical release mechanism, forming a clearly visible disconnection point. As a load-break drop-out fuse, it can also be operated with an insulating pole to make and break rated load currents.
Composite drop-out fuses consist of a silicone rubber composite insulating support and a fuse tube. The silicone rubber material, with its excellent hydrophobicity, UV resistance, and anti-aging properties, significantly enhances the operational safety and service life of models like the RW12-12KV/200A in harsh outdoor environments. This composite insulation design has been fully validated in high-voltage apparatus such as zinc oxide arresters and fully meets outdoor usage requirements.
