Online Arrester Monitor JCQ-C1 C2 C3 - Arrester Online Monitoring Device
JCQ-C1/C2/C3 Online Arrester Monitor is a comprehensive online monitoring device designed for online monitoring of arrester leakage current and operation times, suitable for monitoring the operating status of various arresters in 220kV and below power systems.
I. Overview
Since zinc oxide arresters have been widely used in China's power systems, many accidents have occurred. Some serious accidents have even caused long-term power outages and severe damage to other large electrical equipment, resulting in significant property losses. According to complete statistics, the accident rate of both domestic and imported arresters is above several per thousand. The main causes of accidents are product quality issues, such as poor sealing causing moisture ingress and damage to the arrester, as well as poor valve plate quality, unreasonable parameter design, poor pollution performance and potential distribution performance. In addition, improper product selection, low arrester rated voltage and high charge rate cause increased leakage current under continuous operating voltage, leading to damage. For magnetic blow-out arresters, deterioration and moisture ingress of shunt resistors can also cause increased conductance current and arrester damage. The JCQ arrester monitor can record the number of arrester operations and monitor arrester leakage current online, thereby identifying potential hazards in advance and preventing accidents.
II. Structural Features
The JCQ arrester monitor seals new zinc oxide valve plates, special samplers, high-performance electromagnetic counters, milliammeters, etc. in a circular stainless steel housing. The housing is well sealed, aesthetically pleasing and corrosion-resistant.
III. Main Electrical Performance
Due to the adoption of new zinc oxide valve plates, it features low residual voltage at rated current, large square wave current capacity, high impedance at continuous operating voltage, and large power frequency overcurrent capability. Electrical performance is shown in the table below:

IV. Product Application Range
The JCQ arrester monitor is suitable for various arresters in 220kV and below power systems. If it needs to be used at higher voltage levels, please specify when ordering.
V. Product Inspection Method
1. Counter operation performance inspection:
Use a megohmmeter or other DC power source to charge a 10μF capacitor to 300-600V, then discharge to both ends of the counter. The counter should operate reliably and the milliammeter pointer should swing, indicating that the JCQ arrester monitor is qualified.
2. Current measurement circuit inspection:
A. General inspection: Use a digital multimeter set to diode range, connect the two test leads to both ends of the JCQ arrester monitor. The milliammeter should indicate several hundred microamperes.
B. Precise inspection: Use a single-phase voltage regulator, connect the output end through a resistor of several tens of kilohms in series with the JCQ arrester monitor and AC milliammeter. Increase voltage, the readings of the two meters should be consistent (average value 11.1% lower).

VI. Outline Structure and Installation Dimensions
The JCQ arrester monitor housing is circular stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and electromagnetic shielding. The high voltage outgoing terminal is led out from the rear through a small porcelain bushing, and the lower glass is sealed with a stainless steel ring pressing a rubber sealing ring. Suitable for indoor and outdoor installation. The installation dimensions are shown in the figure below, the same as JS-8 type. During installation, use M10×30 bolts through the flange to install the JCQ arrester monitor in a position near the arrester base that is convenient for observation, and use it as the earthing terminal. Then connect the high voltage outgoing terminal to the lower flange of the arrester using M10×30 bolts and busbar. During installation, note that the M10 nut painted with red paint shall not be loosened arbitrarily to avoid damaging the seal.
