Power system overvoltage is the core hazard causing equipment insulation breakdown and line tripping. The HY5WS-7.6/30 6kV neutral point type zinc oxide arrester adopts composite housing technology, specially designed for neutral point overvoltage protection in 6kV distribution systems. Its core zinc oxide resistor discs have excellent nonlinear volt-ampere characteristics. Under normal conditions, leakage current is only microampere level. When subjected to lightning or switching overvoltages, it instantly conducts, limiting residual voltage within the equipment's withstand level and avoiding insulation damage. Compared with traditional porcelain housing arresters, the composite housing structure combines explosion-proof, aging resistance, hydrophobicity and sealing performance, greatly improving operational reliability.

Application Scenarios

Note that HY5WS-7.6/30 cannot be used to limit resonance overvoltage; system resonance suppression requires dedicated suppression devices. Product model is compiled according to JB/T8459-1996 "Arrester Product Model Designation Method". Gapless products comply with GB11032-2000 "AC Gapless Metal Oxide Arresters"; gapped products comply with JB/T9672-2005 "Metal Oxide Arresters with Series Gaps". Important parameters and configuration methods shall be modified and implemented according to DL/T620-1997 "Overvoltage Protection and Insulation Coordination of AC Electrical Installations".

Selection Guide

Select the corresponding model based on the system rated voltage and neutral point earthing method: HY5WS-7.6/30 is suitable for 6kV neutral point ungrounded or arc suppression coil grounded systems; HY5WS-10/30 is suitable for scenarios requiring higher insulation levels; HY5CS-7.6/27 is a gapped type, suitable for occasions requiring isolation of continuous voltage. When selecting, verify whether the continuous operating voltage and residual voltage are below the equipment insulation level.
