Product Overview
Power system overvoltage is the main cause of insulation breakdown and equipment damage. The HY5WX-108/281 110kV line type zinc oxide arrester adopts composite housing technology, with nonlinear zinc oxide resistor discs as the core component. Under normal conditions, leakage current is only microampere level. When subjected to lightning or switching overvoltages, it instantly conducts thousands of amperes, limiting the overvoltage amplitude within the equipment's withstand range. This arrester is widely used in power generation, transmission, transformation and distribution systems to protect the insulation of key equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers and instrument transformers from overvoltage damage.
Organic housing metal oxide arresters combine the technical advantages of organic insulation materials and porcelain housing technology, featuring good electrical insulation performance, high dielectric strength, anti-tracking, anti-corrosion, heat resistance, cold resistance, aging resistance, explosion-proof, hydrophobicity and good sealing performance. HY10WX-110kV zinc oxide arrester is suitable for AC 220kV and below power generation, transmission, transformation and distribution systems. Application Scenarios
110kV line type zinc oxide arresters are mainly installed on transmission line towers, substation incoming and outgoing sides, used to limit lightning overvoltages and switching overvoltages. In power generation systems, they protect generators and step-up transformers; in transmission and transformation systems, they protect transmission lines, disconnecting switches, current transformers, voltage transformers and circuit breakers; in distribution systems, they protect distribution transformers and switchgear. The composite housing structure makes it particularly suitable for harsh environments such as heavy pollution, high altitude and lightning-prone areas, effectively reducing the line lightning trip rate.
Applicable Standards
This product model is compiled according to JB/T8459-1996 "Arrester Product Model Designation Method". Gapless products comply with GB11032-2000 "AC Gapless Metal Oxide Arresters" standard; gapped products comply with JB/T9672-2005 "Metal Oxide Arresters with Series Gaps" standard. Important parameters and configuration methods not clearly defined in the above standards shall be modified and implemented according to DL/T620-1997 "Overvoltage Protection and Insulation Coordination of AC Electrical Installations". Each arrester is individually tested for DC reference voltage, leakage current, residual voltage and sealing performance before leaving the factory, ensuring each arrester meets the technical specifications.
Selection Guide
When selecting, determine the arrester rated voltage based on the system rated voltage. For 110kV systems, arresters with rated voltage 108kV are typically selected. Choose the residual voltage level according to the importance of the protected object. HY5WX-108/281 with residual voltage 281kV is suitable for conventional line protection; HY5WX-108/309 with residual voltage 309kV is suitable for scenarios with less stringent residual voltage requirements. Choose HY5 series (high current impulse withstand 65kV) or HY10 series (high current impulse withstand 100kV) based on current carrying capacity requirements, with the latter suitable for switching overvoltage scenarios with larger energy. Line type arresters are specially designed for overhead lines, with lightweight composite housing and explosion-proof features, convenient installation and maintenance.
